Sunday, May 7, 2017 Registration begins at 1:00pm and the Walk starts at 2:30pm Start & finish at 10 E Park Pl NE, Grand Rapids (Park Church) HELP FIGHT FOOD INSECURITYParticipating in the Hunger Walk means that you will be joining community members and local organizations like SECOM that are united in the fight against food insecurity. Together, we can create sustainable solutions to food insecurity in Kent County.
Tens of thousands of walkers have raised more than $5.5 million dollars in 39 years of Hunger Walks in response to local and worldwide need.
FUNDS ARE DISTRIBUTED FOR:-food pantry assistance -emergency meals -special-project grants to alleviate hunger through unique, innovative solutions -international hunger relief programs
WHO’S WALKING?Anyone who wants to join the fight against hunger and poverty can walk or pledge a walker. The 39th Annual 5k Hunger Walk will bring over 1,000 walkers and volunteers to make a difference together. Join us for this energetic community event! The Walk starts at Park Church and winds through Heritage Hill, down Wealthy Street, through the East Hills Neighborhood and along Cherry Street before returning downtown.
