Food Pantry

WHAT'S THIS WHITE SPACE FOR?

With fewer jobs and recent pay cuts, many people are finding it difficult to put food on the table. Don't think of it as a hand-out, but a way for them to afford necessary bills like rent or house payments, electricity and heat and to eliminate the need to choose between food and their medecine.

Our Meijer: Committed to Our Community Food Pantry feels like a freindly, neighborhood grocery store with a large variety of food choices. At each visit to the pantry, patrons receive enough food to help their family through about two days. We provide over 70 tons of food per year! Program staff are friendly and speak Spanish for our Hispanic/Latino customers.

The Food Pantry serves as one of 11 "key pantries" in the ACCESS (All County Churches Emergency Support Services) Kent County-wide food pantry network. Support pantries enable SECOM to offer convenient locations to customers throughout its service area. Funds from Meijer and other local conors enable us to offer and maintain the spacious pantry store area and warehouse in the facility we moved into in 2003. Donations of food and other items are welcome. Deliveries should be made to our north dock between 9:00 am and noon or 1:00 pm and 5:00 Monday through Friday.
