Pailalen Parent Training Program

Pailalen is a 13 week family wellness class that gives parents an opportunity to explore who they are, what is special about them and their family.  Parents learn different ways to parent without violence and to keep themselves from violence.  THIS IS NOT THE TYPICAL PARENTING CLASS!  Parents do not spend time being told that their current skills are bad.  Instead they are given more skills that they may use and have the opportunity to brainstorm with others in order to learn.  Parents have an opportunity to build a small community with the other participants in the class as well.  They are challenged to look at their support system which definitely includes their child/ren's school, church and extracurricular activities. Families receive the tools they need to address gang violence, messages in the media, sex, as well as mental and physical health.

Dinner and Childcare is provided weekly free of charge for parents who are participating in Pailalen.
