What is Pride for Parents?
The Pride for Parents Program empowers parents to make a difference in the lives of their children during the holiday season. Starting in January of each year, parents volunteer six hours per child at SECOM or their child's elementary school, earning $12.50 per hour in credit. After completing their volunteerism through the preschool, pantry, garden, or cleaning projects (SECOM) or at their child's school, they are able to use this credit and choose $75 in Christmas gifts for their children.
What do Children Receive?
In addition to toys, parents have requested clothing, books, and school uniforms for their children.
Empowering Families, Strengthening Schools
In 2015, SECOM partnered with Dickinson, Burton, and Buchanan Elementary Schools for the Pride for Parents program. Parents with children in these schools can volunteer in their child's classroom in order to meet the ten hour requirement.
This year, SECOM is committed to ensuring that 120 children receive Christmas gifts through this program.
Help ensure no child goes without; give a gift, so they can receive a gift as well.
