An Event Note
On Tuesday, June 2, SECOM staff and volunteers participated in HUNGER AWARENESS DAY. We joined the caravan traveling from Roger's Plaza to the new home of Family Network of Wyoming just west of 44th St and Clyde Park Ave. We were happy to help Family Network celebrate their new location. Participants enjoyed lunch while receiving information from several local leaders in Emergency Services and Hunger Relief agencies. Representatives of GRACE (Grand Rapids Area Center for Ecumenism) confirmed awards to many of our local food pantries and other food services who took part in the annual GRACE Hunger Walk.
"I was hungry and you fed me. I was thirsty and you gave
me drink. I was a stranger and you invited me into your home.
I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared
for me. I was in prison and you visited me. I assure you, when
you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me!"
Matthew 26:35, 36, 40
