Little Steps Today...

  • Little Steps at SECOM is a free, quality, and licensed preschool for vulnerable 3 and 4 year old children living in Grand Rapids.

  • 32 students spend 28 hours per week (7 hours per day, 4 days per week) learning, socializing, and having fun!

...For a Brighter Future Tomorrow

  • In 2007-2008, 83% of children entering Kindergarten scored less than proficient in a composite of key literacy indicators on the Kindergarten Assessment administered by the district.

  • Studies have shown that vulnerable children receive the greatest benefit from quality preschool programs.

  • Students receive a nutritional meal and snack designed to promote brain development as they learn.

  • The Creative Curriculum used at Little Steps helps children hone skills in 38 different areas by learning through play.
